Volunteers of Men Welfare Trust participated in the Airtel Delhi Half Marathon held on 21st Oct 2018 at JL Nehru Stadium, New Delhi.
Carrying an effigy of a man wounded by huge number of arrows (with messages) depicting the issues such as law misuse, male suicides, misandry, parental alienation etc that are part of the social discourse today. The idea was to send across a message that India which has commission/ ministry for children, women, animals, forest and everything else now needs a commission for welfare of men.
There was huge response from the crowd and our procession was probably the biggest attraction of the whole event.
Lot of people came up, took the helpline numbers, appreciated the cause and some also expressed their desire to join our activities in future.
Good to see that a section of people have now started appreciating the fact that there is a need to raise voice on these issues which were never talked about earlier.
